Eaton Cummins Introduces Endurant HD V Automated Manual Transmission for Vocational Applications
31 Oct,2024
Eaton Cummins Automated Transmission Technologies is broadening its Endurant family of transmission series by introducing the Endurant HD V transmission. It is designed for vocational truck applications with maximum gross combination weight ratings of 70,000 pounds (32,000 kg) using 9-liter, 11-liter, and the upcoming Cummins X10 engines. Maximum engine torque is 1,700 lbs.-ft. (2,300 Nm).
The new Endurant HD V is loaded with features used around the job site, such as an extreme duty clutch for improved low-speed maneuvering, a rock free feature to help get unstuck in mud or sand, an off-highway mode that automatically tunes the transmission for optimum performance in changing soil conditions, and dual power takeoff (PTO) openings to power hydraulic systems.
Drivers will appreciate the confident launch performance on grades thanks to its hill start aid feature, the smooth shifting and gear selection logic. The new secondary configuration mode gives drivers the ability to toggle between two performance goals, features that optimize the transmission shift points and clutch calibration, allowing for a tailored driving experience that accounts for the load or terrain.
“The new Endurant HD V is the ideal solution for our customers looking for a reliable and capable vocational truck transmission,” said Nathan Schuler, executive director, sales, Eaton Cummins Automated Transmission Technologies. “Features such as extreme duty clutches, off-highway performance goals, rock free mode, and secondary configuration set it apart from the competition.”
