Training centers at the Schaeffler locations modernized
Schaeffler welcomes around 300 trainees and dual students throughout Germany
At the beginning of the training year, 19 young people started their careers at the Schaeffler location in Homburg. They opted for industrial-technical professions such as mechatronics technician, toolmaker, electronics technician for automation technology or cutting machine operator.
Train specialists for their own needs
Training has always been very important at Schaeffler. The importance is particularly evident in times of a shortage of skilled workers. “We train consistently for our own needs and are expanding our range of training opportunities in Germany accordingly. An example of this is the apprenticeship as an IT specialist with various areas of application,” says Uwe Kando, Head of Training Germany at Schaeffler. In addition, the technology company offers numerous dual study programs in which practical experience is combined with scientific work. This range of bachelor's and master's courses is also constantly being expanded to include future topics, for example in the areas of the environment, IT or hydrogen technology.
Training centers equipped with modern machines
In addition to constantly adapting the training content to the requirements in practice, Schaeffler invests in the equipment of its training centers. Several million euros flow into the modernization of the learning environment, especially into state-of-the-art machines to make the junior staff fit for topics such as robotics or automation technology.
At the start of the 2023 training year, almost 300 young people will start their careers at the German locations. Schaeffler enables around 1,000 young people to receive training at a high level at 17 locations throughout Germany. The Motion Technology Company offers training in around 20 commercial-technical, business administration or IT professions as well as the option of 15 different dual courses of study.
