Regal Rexnord Unveils Full Product Lineup for Second-Generation SS700 Series Stainless Steel Worm Gearboxes
13 Sep,2024
Regal Rexnord Corporation has added two new models to its portfolio of Boston Gear Gen2 SS700 Series stainless steel worm gearboxes. The new sizes bring the full product lineup to seven. A larger output shaft bore expands the number of applications each model of gearbox can support, providing flexibility and versatility for customers in a range of industries, including food, beverage and pharmaceuticals. “With this expanded portfolio, customers can select the size that best fits the needs of their applications and production lines for improved efficiency and optimized performance,” said Michael Stegmann, business development manager, Regal Rexnord. “This new generation packages the form, fit and function of the original stainless steel speed reducers with upgrades that help improve food safety and reduce costs.” The latest models in the lineup offer higher torque and larger sizes that deliver increased capabilities for operations that need higher speeds and increased performance. As with the other models in the portfolio, these next-generation gearboxes reduce contamination risk with features like an improved Domed Crown curved design that eliminates virtually all pooling of liquids during washdowns. In addition, 316-grade stainless steel construction offers enhanced durability and hygiene over painted, coated and aluminum alloy speed reducers for food and beverage applications. The Gen2 SS700 has an IP69K-rated stainless steel enclosure, compliant with IEC 60529 standards and capable of withstanding washdown nozzle pressures up to 1450 psi at 4 inches without water ingress. The Gen2 SS700 is National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) certified, which means its hygienic design meets the most stringent food safety requirements and meets or surpasses United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) or any other food regulatory guidelines. Gen2 SS700 Series speed reducers offer high energy efficiency along with the lowest operating temperatures available, extending product life and reducing safety risk and operational and maintenance costs. For low-torque and low-duty applications, the series also features larger output shaft bore sizes compatible with smaller speed reducers. This allows operations to downsize product selection and standardize conveyors throughout their facilities. Backwards compatibility with the first-generation models allows for ease of product upgrade and integration.
